Reviews: Office Cuckold and Husband Training.

This week is going to be a bit different in that I have a bit of extra time with the holidays and so I'm going to do a bonus mid-week review in addition to my usual weekend review. Also, I'm going to be reviewing two stories in one post.

The first story is Office Cuckold: Extreme Cuckold Erotica by Claudia Daye.

 Shaun's Rating:

I'm a big fan of cuckolding stories; but this one just didn't do much for me, other than cause me to roll my eyes.  It's very short; there's really no story line here, it's just a cuckolding scene set in an office. As far as the scene goes it's okay; sort of. There are some elements to it that I found hot, but the overall premise is so ridiculous that I just couldn't get into it. It's well edited and easy to read, but just flat in my opinion. My recommendation; pass. I'm giving it one and one half paddles.

Next up is Husband Training (Femdom Erotica) by Mina Black.

 Shaun's Rating:

This one is actually more than a short story, about seventy six pages according to Amazon, but  I'm going to include it here because I really don't have much to say about it. It's actually a pretty decent story, I like the plot, but the editing/proof reading is absolutely atrocious. It was a struggle to finish this book, there are so many mistakes, misused words, etc. that I could not possibly get into the story. I definitely recommend passing on this one and I'm giving it a generous half paddle.

Review: Alexis Volume 1, Her Feminine Cocoon by Roxana

This week I'm going to be reviewing Alexis Volume 1 (Her Feminine Cocoon) by Roxana.  This is a case in point proving that you should not judge a book by its cover.

Shaun's rating:

I happened across this book when it was being offered free, I am so glad I did. When I saw the cover I thought it was almost certainly just another piece of erotic fluff, and there's no way I would have paid the usual price of $3.99 for an eighty seven page piece of fluff. What I found out within just a few pages is that it is worth every penny of the asking price.

This is the story of a young transgender girl (Alex/Alexis) coming of age and beginning her transformation.  The author does a wonderful job, in my opinion, of capturing the challenges, emotions, heartaches, and triumphs that occur in her transformation. I was able to relate so closely with Alexis, I truly felt immersed in the story.

Roxana does a wonderful job of developing the characters and story; I'm amazed at the depth she developed in just eighty seven pages.

Okay, I know you're wondering about the action; so it's a nice story of a transgender girl's transformation, but what about the sex? Well, it's sizzling. The author manages to write several very hot sex scenes into this wonderful story. The story contains Het sex, girl on girl, multiple partners, pegging and more. All of the scenes are steaming and sure to bring a tingle to your nether regions.

The book was well edited with very few mistakes, you won't be stumbling through awkward mistakes or getting thrown from this story.

I definitely recommend this book, and I'm hoping that Roxana will continue the Alexis series.  I'm giving it four and one half out of five paddles, I truly hope you will grab a copy and that you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Review: Lex (Unconventional Hearts, book 1) by S.K. Logsdon

This week I'm going to review Lex (an Unconventional Hearts book 1) by S.K. Logsdon.

Shaun's rating:

This is a terrific story of love between two people who face many challenges; both individually and together. The characters draw you into the story as they face these challenges and find a way to make their relationship work. It also is filled with lots of steaming encounters between these two characters.

The author does a masterful job of developing the characters. I came to know each character very quickly as they were introduced, and it wasn't much further along before they became friends.  I was rooting for the protagonists, and finding myself loathe to put the book down as I needed to find out if things were going to work out for them in the end.

The sex scenes in this book are hot, steaming, and among the best I've ever read. The author made me feel like I was there, a voyeur (in a very good way), in those scintillating scenes.

I also love that this is a book that deals with some issues that are outside of societal norms. It presents some perspectives that most of society is not greatly aware of, and in my opinion this is done in a positive way.

I wish I could get into a more in-depth discussion of the story here, but I don't want to drop any spoilers.

There are some editing problems in the book, mostly misused words. This did throw me from the story a few times, but they were not common enough to draw me completely out. If not for the editing problems I would probably have given this book at least another half paddle in my rating.

I am giving this book four out of five paddles, and I do hope that you will pick up a copy and give it a read. As I write this review the book is available for only $0.99 from Amazon, that's a terrific bargain in my opinion.

Review: The Futa's Naughty Pet by B. J. Sackrider

I've decided to try something new here at Putaine Musings; I'm going to begin reviewing erotica. If you are an author and would like me to review one of your stories or books, please send me an email and we can chat about it.

I love good erotica, but it seems to be hard to find. I can't tell you how disappointed I have been at times with erotica I have purchased, some that even had positive reviews on the retailer's site, only to find that it was entirely unreadable. Sometimes it is just a bad (or no) plot. More often it is so poorly edited, so filled with spelling and grammatical errors, that I find myself sucked out of the story every few sentences. This drives me crazy.  I don't expect perfection; after all even professionally edited and published works have mistakes, but I do expect a book or story that I purchase to at least be readable.

What I hope to do here is to give honest reviews of erotica I have read. This is mostly going to be erotica with themes that I find of particular interest, Femdom, BDSM, gender bending, etc. But I may review more mainstream works on occasion as well.

Let me be clear that I am definitely not a professional reviewer. I am an avid erotica reader, and I enjoy writing erotica myself. All I am going to do here is read a piece and give you my honest opinion regarding it.

I hope that my opinions can help readers find erotica that is at least well enough written and edited to be readable. Of course I'll give my opinion regarding the story, or lack thereof, and the hotness factor as well; after all we read erotica to be titillated.

For this first review I will be taking a look at The Futa's Naughty Pet by B. J. Sackrider.

 Shaun's rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 paddles

Firstly, let me just say that the author's name is awesome; bonus points for that B. J.

Second, perhaps you are wondering (especially if you are a bit older like me), just what in hell is a Futa? I'm glad you asked; according to the Urban Dictionary 'Futa' is short for Futanari  which is:

"A genre or character in art or literature that features a female that has all feminine attributes except that she has a penis. This can include her having a vagina, testicles, etc. so long as she has a penis. A futanari girl is not to be confused with a trap or cross-dresser as they are a female."

Well now, that certainly sounds interesting to a gender bending person such as Shaun.

The Futa's Naughty Pet is a very short story, surprisingly short in fact, but the good news is that there are two  bonus stories included in the Kindle edition that I downloaded.

It is really difficult to develop characters in such a short story, and the characters in The Futa's Naughty Pet are not very well developed. The author does a better job of developing characters in the bonus stories in my opinion. Your mileage may vary, but the characters in the main story remained strangers to me throughout.

I also didn't feel drawn into the action, or the scenes in The Futa's Naughty Pet, again the author did a much better job with the bonus stories in my opinion.

What about the action in the bonus stories?  Yeah, the action  was good.  It was hot and titillating. The author does an excellent job of describing the action so that I felt I could see it.

The editing was a problem though. Just as I would get drawn into a hot action scene there would be some glaring (to me) editing problem that would throw me right out of the story. It was small things for the most part, "quiet" instead of "quite",  "he" instead of "she", or in at least one case in one of the bonus stories the wrong character performing an action. There were also instances where, it seemed to me, the wrong character was associated with dialogue. If these kind of things don't bother you then by all means get a copy of this book and give it a read, but unfortunately they drive me crazy.

One other very minor point, the book did not contain a linked table of contents. Now normally this would not be a problem at all, especially in the case of short erotic stories such as this. In this particular case though, since there are actually three stories in this book, I would really appreciate a table of contents that would deliver me to the beginning of each story,

I'm going to use a five paddle rating system for the books I review here, and I am giving The Futa's Naughty Pet two and one half out of five paddles. If you can read through the editing problems without being thrown out of the story; by all means grab a copy and give it a read. The bonus stories especially have a good hotness factor, with great graphic action. I highly recommend that you be sure your copy includes the bonus stories, as my Kindle copy did, in my opinion the bonus stories are much better reading than the main story.

A Sissy Diary is now on Smashwords!

A Sissy Diary is now available on Smashwords as well as Amazon.  If you haven't checked it out yet I hope you will.  As always, if you've read any of my books or stories, I'd love to hear from you; so feel free to comment here or contact me via social media or email, I'm easy to find.

I think I'm going to give the Sallyann stories a little rest and begin work on another of the Undiminished books. I'm hoping to have some time during the holidays to do some serious writing, the Undiminished series being novella length, require quite a bit more time and commitment than the Sallyann stories. We'll just have to see how it goes.

A Sissy Diary

A Sissy Diary is now available on Amazon! Check it out, I hope you enjoy it.

http://goo.gl/xrmEhx
Scott has been living a lie most of his life. He has a secret part of himself that he has not shared with anyone, not even his wife. Scott's life is changed the day that his wife catches him dressing in her clothes. The crossdressing is only the tip of the iceberg that is Scott's secret. Scott has other desires as well, darker desires, and so it turns out does his wife.
In A Sissy Diary we follow Scott as he becomes immersed in these darker desires with the help of his 'Auntie Lois' and 'Uncle Cliff.'

I need a spanking!

Wow, I have not been keeping up with this blog very well. Maybe I need to be punished? Or, more likely, I just need to get off my lazy ass once in awhile and get in here and write something.

I have been very busy with other life matters and my writing has taken a back seat. I find that I can only occasionally steal enough time to sit down and write seriously. That is difficult for me. I often have to go back, when I do get a chance to sit down and write, and read what I had previously written so that I can get back in the flow. There's just too much time between those opportunities, and I tend to forget the feel of the story. Of course this means I spend much of my writing time re-reading my previous work. This is not a very productive scenario.

With that being said, I have finally managed to finish a sissy novelette. It is titled A Sissy Diary and I am quite pleased with it. This tells the back story of Scott, AKA Sallyann, leading up to A Sissy Story. We see how his wife, Carly, finds out that Scott has these feminine and submissive desires, and how they find a way to move forward in their marriage after these revelations. I hope that you readers will enjoy it. I think it's a very hot and sexy story; I also hope that it may cause the reader to think about gender and how gender does not always match sex. Who we feel we are doesn't always jive with what's between our legs.

I'll be sure to get back here and post a link for the novelette once it's published

I got a wonderful five star review for Passion Undiminished on Amazon, I'll copy it below:

By Private sub on September 26, 2015
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This story truly explained my submissive self to me. Thank you and I look forward to reading the entire diminished series.

I was thrilled to read this review. I truly hope that my books can do more than just make the reader hard or wet, though that is certainly something I want as well. I also hope that my books can reach out to readers, to make them think, to help them understand themselves. I hope that my books can help people to understand different sexual and gender choices and that these choices are okay.

Anyhow Private sub, whoever you are, you made my month. Thank you for the terrific review!

Passion Undiminished now in paperback!

At the urging of some author friends I decided to take the plunge and publish the Undiminished  series in paperback format.  I was a bit daunted by this undertaking, technology and I don't always get along very well, but it turned out to be a fairly simple process.  I used Createspace and was quite pleased with the way I was walked through the steps.

Passion Undiminished is now available in paperback form on Amazon, and should be available through other retailers very soon.  Of course the Kindle version is still available as well.

I have the proof copy of Passion Undiminished sitting here on the desk next to me as I type this.  I'm so pleased with the way it turned out.  I guess I'm of that certain age that I still love to hold a paper book in my hands.  Honestly I do about 90% of my reading on a Kindle or Ipad these days, but there is still something about the feel of a physical book.

I hope that I will be able to reach more readers by having the books available in paperback form.  The paperback proof of Love Undiminished is on its way to me right now, and if it looks good it should be published and available very soon as well.

If anyone is interested in signed copies of either book just shoot me an email and we can arrange that.  Copies will be $5.99 plus shipping.
