I've been swamped lately but I had time this week to read Their Meddling Aunt: Sequel to Their Wild Little Girl by Shawna Hunter and so here are my thoughts on this book.
Shaun's rating:
Their Meddling Aunt is a sequel to Their Wild Little Girl which I have not read yet, but I thought it worked fine as a stand alone piece.
Marcus, Jessica, and Elisabeth (Lizzy) have a happy little menage going on with a bit of bdsm play to keep things spicy. Lizzy had survived for years in the jungle of South America after a plane crash which claimed the life of her parents. Marcus had rescued her and Jessica was involved in her reintroduction to the civilized world. All of that is, I'm sure, the story of Their Wild Little Girl, but it's explained well enough in Their Meddling Aunt that the reader has a pretty good idea of what's going on even without having read the first book.
Jessica is a bit devious, she likes head games, and she has come up with a plot to help Marcus come more to terms with his role as a dominant. This plot involves Lizzy's aunt, Lydia, who has her own plot working; she wants to test Marcus and be sure that he is worthy of being Lizzy and Jessica's dominant.
It's an interesting plot, but to be honest I did not think it was as well developed as some of the Author's other works which I have read. The story seemed to drag a bit for me during the first 25% or so of the book, but after that it got more interesting.
There was a lot of erotic content in this book, most of which was quite titillating as I would expect having read a couple of Ms Hunter's books in the past, she is quite good at describing steamy scenes. As I mentioned there's a good bit of bdsm thrown in to spice things up; most of it is rather mild, including spanking and pony play.
My main critique of this book is with the editing; it badly needed a final edit. There were a lot of misused words, and Marcus was referred to as Shawn in at least a couple of places. This drew from the story flow multiple times and really took away from my enjoyment of the book.
I'm giving Their Meddling Aunt three and one half out of five paddles.

Review: Schooled to Obey: Lilly's Training, Book 1 by Devi Ansevi
I'm afraid I've fallen a bit behind with reviews here once again, but I'll try to get back to it and this week I'll be giving you my thoughts on another audiobook: Schooled to Obey: Lilly's Training writeen by Devi Ansevi and narrated by Rose Lachlin.
Shaun's rating:
Lily had a wonderful life as a Governess but when her Mistress' children have grown and her mother is faced with health problems she finds herself in rather desperate circumstances; but there is a light at end of the tunnel. However, the journey through that tunnel will be an incredibly erotic awakening unlike anything the rather naive Lily could have imagined. Lord Harcourt Will be her teacher and trainer as she experiences an erotic awakening that she could not have possibly imagined.
Wonderfully written by Devi Ansevi this story takes the listener on a sweetly erotic journey right along with Lily. Terrific character development and wonderfully described scenes bring the reader into the story. I give the story five out of five paddles.
Rose Lachlin is a wonderful narrator and I very much enjoyed her reading of this story, though at times I felt like she was a bit subdued. A little more excitement and life in the narration would have been welcome, but honestly this may be a bit overly critical on my part, I still give the narration four out of five paddles.
Overall this audiobook is absolutely wonderful and I definitely recommend it. I'm giving Schooled to Obey four and one half out of five paddles.

The audio edition of Trust Undiminished!
The audiobook edition of Trust Undiminished is now available on Amazon and Audible!
Tom and Lisa have always had a special bond and a special love for one another. Since they met Tom has felt a desire to submit to Lisa, his love and devotion to her have only grown over time. Lisa has embraced Tom's submission and grown to love and respect him more as her own dominant nature has flourished.
Now as their second anniversary as husband and wife, as well as mistress and slave, is celebrated they begin to delve more deeply into dominance and submission. They begin to explore the world of cuckoldry.
Lisa is a bit worried at the pitfalls that may be encountered as they undertake this journey, but she is also thrilled as new possibilities and wonderful experiences are opening up for her. Tom is finding that while a part of him is thrilled another part is struggling to deal with the conflicting emotions that are far more powerful than he imagined they would be. Tom and Lisa are learning just how important trust is in a marriage, especially when that marriage involves cuckoldry.

This
is the second volume of Shaun Putaine's Undiminished series. It opens
with Tom and Lisa, the BDSM couple we met in Passion Undiminished,
celebrating their wedding. In a nice touch, it's Tom who promises to
obey as they exchange their vows. Now that they're married, Tom's
thoughts soon turn to cuckolding. He realizes he can't satisfy Lisa
sexually, so he encourages her to find alternative lovers. Lisa is a
highly alluring woman, so it's not long before she snags herself a
couple of hot studs.
This is a more straightforwardly erotic story than the others in the series. There isn't the emotional intensity that made Love Undiminished so disturbing. In this story, Shaun Putaine is more interested in turning the reader on than in exploring the complex feelings that attach to a BDSM relationship. It's none the worse for that, though. It's an enjoyable, arousing tale and the author has an uncanny knack for finding the perverse little details that ramp up the sexual excitement. A very good piece of erotic writing.

Review: Living in Stealth 3: Breaking Cover
This week I tried to read Living in Stealth 3: Breaking Cover by Debbie Ballard, Debbie Lawrence, and Lee Ballard.
Shaun's rating:
I almost never review a book that I was not able to finish, but I'm making an exception in this case. This book is estimated to be six hundred sixty nine pages long by Amazon, I made it through about ten percent of that and there was just no way I was going to be able to stand reading the other ninety percent.
The editing was not well done; this book sorely needed another proofread. I found the writing style to be confusing or confused; or maybe it was both? At first I thought that this confusing style was a device the author was using to show the reader the confusion that Debbie/Rex (the protagonist) dealt with in life, but I don't think that was the case. Whether it was purposeful or not is moot, at least for me, it made the story almost unreadable. It was a struggle to get through ten percent of this book and at that point I just really didn't care about the other ninety percent.
I'm giving Living in Stealth 3 two out of five paddles, I can't recommend this book.

Review: Swapship Troopers by Walker Long
This week I had the pleasure of reading a fantastic scifi/military/thriller/gender swapping/erotic/romance story ( I know, there are a lot of slashes there, right? This book contains all of those things and manages to do it all very well). The book is Swapship Troopers by Walker Long.
Shaun's rating:
Swapship Troopers is a futuristic story about marines who are tasked to defend human colonies and infrastructures from ferocious giant spider like aliens. The marines have recently come up with a DNA modifying serum, that can change a male into a female and back again, as a way to help boost morale for these units that are deployed in space for long periods of time. The troops all enjoy this chance for a bit of fun, but for two marines it becomes something more meaningful.
As I mentioned above this book has elements of scifi, military thriller, and gender swapping erotica with a bit of romance to top it all off. The amazing thing to me was how well the author managed to mesh all these into one terrific story. The scifi/military thriller part of this story is very well done, and with the added fun of the gender swapping erotic elements it becomes an absolute joy to read. There are thrills, laughs, and sexiness all enmeshed throughout this terrific story.
The character, plot, and scene development are all first rate. I was totally drawn into the story, I connected with the characters, and thoroughly enjoyed the story arc from beginning to end.
Since I generally review erotica here I suppose I should touch on that specifically: The erotic scenes in this book are fantastic. The sex was hot and steamy, described very well and the author absolutely shows the reader rather than telling them (that is true for the entire book from the battle scenes to the romantic scenes, to the sex scenes). I loved the gender swapping, it was written in a fun and, I thought, rather insightful way.
The copy editing was quite well done, there were a perhaps two or three small things that caught my eye as I read, but nothing that interrupted the story flow.
I'm giving Swapship Troopers five out of five paddles, I highly recommend this fun, exciting, sexy, and entertaining book.
I received a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Review: The Nail Ring by Zoe S. Figueroa
The subject of this week's review is The Nail Ring: A Gender Transformation, Sexuality Swapping Novella by Zoe S. Figueroa.
Shaun's rating:
The Nail Ring tells the story of Nick and a ring he finds at a swap meet. The ring is free to take, but it costs twenty dollars to take it off. Nick tries it on and is incensed when he can't remove it. He refuses to pay the twenty dollars to remove it, sure that it's just a trick and he can figure it out himself. In fact the ring has magical powers and Nick is not able to remove it, the powers go beyond just not being able to remove the ring however. When Nick is wearing the ring and touches another person he is transformed into the object of that person's sexual desire.
This is a really fast paced story with lots of action, and lots of variety. Nick is turned into both males and females, he experiences gay, lesbian, and hetero sex; there's even a bit of pegging involved (I leave it to the reader to discover if Nick is the pegger or pegee). The erotic scenes were quite hot and I really enjoyed the variety.
There is not an over abundance of character development or scene setting in this novella, however there is just enough for it to work and to help the reader see and be drawn into the story.
The editing was pretty good, a few mistakes slipped by but they didn't interrupt my flow as I read.
I really enjoyed this story, it was fun and sexy. I highly recommend to fans of gender swapping/transformation especially those who might enjoy fluid sexuality. I'm giving The Nail Ring four and one half out of five paddles.
